1. University of Ilorin
The Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin is one of the outstanding law faculties in Nigeria. The faculty was founded in 1983 as a unit in the Department of Business Administration, under the leadership of Professor Eyitayo Lambo. It was upgraded in 1984 into a full department in the Faculty of Business and Social sciences.
Because the law programme was a unit in the Faculty of Business and Social sciences, the National University Commission (NUC) refused to see the programme. 2. Obafemi Awolowo University
The Faculty of Law is one of the Foundation Faculties of the University since 1962. In 1960, the Committee on Legal Education for Students from Africa was set up under the legendary Lord Denning. The Report of the Committee sees the need for the training of lawyers within Africa. The Unworths Committee on the Future of the Nigerian legal profession, which was established in April 1959, submitted its Report in October 1959. The Committee recommended that:

6. University of Maiduguri
