  • Your high school counselor is expected to submit your official transcript. It should be submitted electronically via the Common Application School Report. Your counselor can also mail your transcript to UMBC’s office.
  • You are to send your test scores; although, this is optional for Fall 2021/2022 applicants. SAT/ACT submission is optional for you if you are attending high school or home school in the United States.
  • Your official scores should be sent directly from the College Board or the ACT. UMBC’s College Board code is 5835, and UMBC’s ACT code is 1751.
  • You are to submit at least two (2) letters of recommendation electronically through the Common Application.
  • Audition and submit a portfolio as required by the department. If you are “Dance, Music, Theater and Visual Arts” majors, you are to complete additional requirements based on program expectations.
  • If you are applying to the Honors College, select “Yes” to the Honors College question in the Academics Section of the University Questions. You are to complete the additional required writing supplement.

What is student life like at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC)?
