What Is University of Guelph Acceptance Rate
The University of Guelph acceptance rate is 66%, which is pretty good and accommodating. This is mainly because the university accepts many domestic and international students, therefore, making the application process more accommodating.
The University of Guelph (U of G) is an all-inclusive public research university in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1964 after the amalgamation of Ontario Agricultural College (1874), the MacDonald Institute (1903), and the Ontario Veterinary College (1922), and has since grown to an institution with almost 30,000 students (including those at the Ridgetown Campus, Humber campus, off-campus degree enrolments, diploma enrolments, and part-time students).
The university has a total enrollment of over 29,500, of which 1,700 are international students from over 130 countries.
All courses recommend placements or internships varying from a minimum of 100 hours to over 850 hours throughout the four years. The University of Guelph-Humber is in Toronto, one of the world’s most distinct cities, delivering students with many openings for unique and exciting placements.
With a close-knit community of around 5,000 students, the average class size is only 49 students. This makes it possible for students and faculty to work together, adding to a supportive and collaborative setting.
University of Guelph Campuses
The main university campus spans 412 hectares, including the 165-hectare University of Guelph Arboretum and a 12-hectare research park.
The earliest examples of the campus’ architecture go back to the inception of the Ontario Agricultural College and consist of the President’s house and Raithby House, which were all constructed with local limestone.
Campuses such as the McLaughlin Library and the MacKinnon arts building, serve as major meeting places. The campus is well-populated with trees that line the main walkways, many of which are covered with red clay brick.
Campus safety is guaranteed by the Campus Community Police, First Response Team, and Fire Safety officers.
They also have the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) campuses which have a network of campuses and research stations all over Ontario which were operated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs.
The OAC still operates in Guelph and at the campus in Ridgetown, Ontario. It doesn’t offer degree programs in this location. Instead, they focus on technology transfer students, with two and three-year diploma programs. Specialties are agriculture, environmental management, veterinary technology, and horticulture.
Lastly is the University of Guelph-Humber campus which is a satellite campus situated on Humber’s North Campus in Toronto, this campus offers seven four-year academic programs that grant an honors degree from the University of Guelph and a college diploma from Humber College.

The University of Guelph offers over 94 degree programs, and over 48 graduate and post-doctoral study programs, 6 associate degrees in various disciplines, and more than 60 open learning/distance education opportunities. The university also employs 830 full-time faculty (academic staff) as of fall 2019.
The six-story McLaughlin Library offers students with over 400 computers in the library and access to books, films, periodicals, audiovisual and archival materials, government documents, and maps. In the 2017/2018 school year, the Library received over 1.4 million visitors.
Students can access millions of library resources through the automated library system that partners with 14 other academic libraries in Ontario. Guelph students, faculty, and staff also have access to electronic resources from any place at any time.

University of Guelph Admission Requirement
The University of Guelph believes in granting admission on the basis of academic background, and scores in standardized exams to study in Canada. International students are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.9 on a scale of 4.0.
Due to COVID-19, the University of Guelph has decided to make the SAT/ACT exam optional for the upcoming admission cycle. Nevertheless, if submitting the results will benefit the student and strengthen their application, the students should do so as the university will take them into account.
These are some of the basic admission requirements for the University of Guelph.
1. Completion of a Class 12 State Board Certificate in the required academic stream with strong First Division standing.
2. Official 10th standard board results accompanied by predicted class 12.

Students applying from high school or secondary school may apply for the Fall entry point, which begins in September. For international students who have previously attended a University or College and will receive more than 2.00 credits upon admission can apply as International Transfer Student.
The applications are accepted online. Students can apply through Common Application or use the International students online application form. The application fee for undergraduates is 90 CAD and 160 CAD for advanced standing/transfer applicants.
The application fee for postgraduates is 110 CAD (The MBA, MA Leadership application fee is 150 CAD)
All the documents are recommended to be submitted early for early consideration, as there is no guarantee of the availability of space in programs.
Student Accommodation at the University of Guelph
Most students prefer to live on campus in co-ed residences, including in the East Residence (which has 610 residents), East Townhouses (645 residents), Lambton Hall (400 residents), Johnston Hall (315 residents), Lennox/Addington Hall (520 residents), Mills Hall (160 residents), Maids Hall (50 residents), West Residences (110 students living among the Family Housing community), Watson Hall (67 residents, and female only), and South Residence (1,800 residents evenly distributed across Mountain, Prairie and Maritime Halls).
Also on campus are the East Village Townhouses. The townhouses consist of 164, four-, five- and six-bedroom self-contained units. These mostly house upper-year students and international students.
West Residences, is home to 110 upper-year students. These students live among the Family Housing residents in either two-bedroom townhouses or one to two-bedroom apartments (only available at the College Avenue location). West Residences promote diverse programs and has many opportunities for community involvement.
South Residence, the largest residence on campus, houses 1800 students and more than 50 Residence Life staff members. It is divided into three self-contained halls with independent fire alarm grids.
Having 14 different campus living environments, the University of Guelph has one of the largest university housing systems in Canada, making student accommodation very easy.
University of Guelph Tuition Fees
Payments of tuition are done on a semesterly basis rather than annually. In an effort to ease the financial burden, payments are required at the start of each semester as an alternative to having to pay the entire amount all at once at the beginning of the school year.

Also, out of concern for the security and safety of both the students and staff at the university, the Student Financial Services will no longer accept cash payments. All payments are made online and online payments will take three business days to be processed. Students can verify on WebAdvisor (after 72 business hours) to ensure payment has been received and also be advised to keep a copy of their transaction record.
Tuition and fees are calculated based on the academic program, cohort year, course load, room and meal plan selection, and even parking if required. These fees (tuition, registration deposit, compulsory fees, meal plan, and residence fees – excluding the residence deposit) must be paid by the semester deadline date posted. Students’ accounts can be viewed through WebAdvisor.

What is the application procedure for residence?
Almost all new students are accepted to residence if they apply by the deadline. High school students applying for semester one (Fall Entry), will be sent along with their offer of admission, instructions on how to complete an application for residence. The application process is completed online. The application must be completed before the published deadline, to secure a space in one of the residence living environments. Students are also required to submit a residence deposit by the same deadline to remain eligible for the housing guarantee.
How do I find out if the application has been accepted?
Once the university has received the student’s mid-term grade data and estimated final results by March 1, the student will receive an admission decision prior to May. For applications completed after March 1, offers of admission will be made on an ongoing basis.
Are admission accepted for semesters other than the fall?
Admission to Semester One of a degree program is available only in the Fall semester. Transfer applicants are eligible to apply to some programs for Winter and Spring entry. Consideration of available programs is fully based on space availability. Only students that have completed post-secondary studies (university/college) as of the Document Deadline are considered by the university.
