Every semester, students partake in in-house sports events such as golf, dodgeball, indoor volleyball, table tennis, soccer, basketball etc, all varying in leagues, competitiveness, and divisions. Students build teams within campus organizations, residence halls, sororities/fraternities, and their groups of friends.
There is also the Baylor University Golden Wave Band (BUGWB), which is the halftime entertainment for Baylor football. The 340-member band attends every football game played at home and sometimes travels to away games. The band’s name dates back to 1928 when, while on tour in West Texas, spectators noticed how the band members’ gold uniforms looked like a giant “golden wave” sweeping over the landscape.
